Merlès Martínez, the new technician in “Fire Flocks”

Merlès is a livestock farmer and shepherd and co-founder of the project “Can Mimó, shepherds and artisan producers”. Graduated in agricultural engineering at the UPC and trained in clinical ethology at the UAB and the School of Shepherds of Catalonia, she has a long career in the world of the primary sector, and extensive knowledge of strategic areas for the prevention of wildfires.

“From my incorporation to Ramats de Foc, I hope to be able to share all the knowledge acquired in recent years as a shepherdess, giving the vision from the primary sector, being aware of their needs, strengths and weaknesses,” explains Merlès.

Merlès will be in charge of the proper development of the project in accordance with the objectives set, giving a more technical vision linked to her educational background.

“It is very motivating to be able to work on this project, being able to lend a hand to farmers who do essential work for society and which, unfortunately, is not valued by the administration”.

Welcome, Merlès!
