Daniel is a shepherd with a great vocation. He spends practically all day with his
livestock, whether grazing, milking, processing, making improvements in the corral or
any other task that involves an improvement in the welfare of the animals. In addition,
he dedicates part of his time to the management of the ADF of Alforja, of which he is the
president, and collaborates with the Montsant Natural Park for the maintenance of low
fuel load areas.
He is a transhumant shepherd and takes advantage of the displacement with the cattle
between Margalef and Alforja, the two grazing points, to recover the old livestock trails
that are falling into disuse due to the lack of farmers who perform this task. He also
vindicates ancestral practices, less industrialized and with a more direct contact with
animals. Ramats de Foc, for him, is an opportunity to recognize the work of shepherds
and shepherdesses, as well as an opportunity to value the product in order to achieve a
fair income.
