Josep Maria Saurí acquired his herd in 1996, largely because he was aware of the Gualba wildfire in 1994. His project has a double objective: wildfire risk management and the ecological production of meat. The herd has been integrated into the forestry management of the Can Terrades de Fuirosos family farm. Currently, he leads a team of four people and they sell the meat on their own under the “Can Terrades, Xai del Montnegre” brand.
